Tesla reborn
A Wirelessly Powered Lightbulb Did I misread or are these guys taking credit for Tesla's work? The main difference that I can see is that when Tesla did it he matched the resonant frequencys of the earth to transmit the power much further (20+ miles) and had at one point in theory started building a device near New York that would have been able to send power anyware in the world.

"Using a remarkably simple setup--basically consisting of two metal coils--they have demonstrated, for the first time, that it is feasible to efficiently send that much power over such a distance."

Hmmmmm..... I would think that an absolute "first time" would belong to tesla ore even earlier. however they use "efficiently" so maybe they did something different that qualifies.
probably not :)

The experiment paves the way for wirelessly charging batteries in laptops, mobile phones, and music players.......

Hope they are not planning a patent. Those things have all been done before. A lot. (Prior art).
Unless they have some really interesting efficiency enhancements they don't have a lot to offer.
