I haven't posted for a while so I figured I should put up a few words. I guess I will start with some background; I'm on a diet.. I have been for almost two years, when I started I was 260 lb overweight, now I am only 41 lb overweight.. One of the stipulations of the diet is that I can not drink alcohol at all, so its been 21.5 months since I have had anything alcoholic to drink, this has not been a problem except for a few brief times. See last year real Absinthe was finally legalized in the USA a few domestic company's immediately started production using various recipes. One of the domestic company's that are currently producing the liquor is St George in Alameda, the same company that makes Hanger One (which I currently consider to be the best Vodka available to the public). So now.. sitting on my shelf at home, I have two bottled of the St George Absinthe sitting, waiting for me. I know some other people that have tried it.. and they said it was great, but I have to wait.
I have had real Absinthe before, before I was on this diet I would import it and serve it to my friends. I do not crave anything really (except donuts), and its not that I don't know what the absinthe will taste like, I cant really explain why I am looking forward to that first glass so much.
I'll probably be off this portion of the diet by the end of next month, then I will still have to count calories and be careful with calorie dense foods (like Alcohol) but, I will finally get to try the St. George Absinthe.
Anyway.. I didn't have much to say, just posting for the hell of it.

Windows Live Writer
So not long ago Microsoft decided to get into the blogging arena. This time, unlike what I have seen them do before, they are not trying to push everyone out of the market. They have their own service, but the blog editor they wrote "Windows Live Writer" works with just about any blogging site, including Blogger which is what this site is based on. So.. this is just my first go at seeing how it all looks. You can download WLR from from here http://get.live.com/writer/

LJ is down (for now)
I don't use LJ much at all.. but it seems everyone is talking about the fact that they are down again (this time because of a power outage) and that sixapart does not seem to be placing a high priority on getting them back up.. Isn't it about time someone step up and replace them. Google has a great base for it with blogger but is missing allot of features.. easy to set up community's, friends page, etc..
So where is it google? or anyone else.. you know you can do it..

Common Courtesy and Common Sense during the zombie uprising
Okay, this needs to be done. Have some common courtesy and common sense. There are scientists working on a solution, they are trying to figure out how to reverse whatever happened, they are trying to figure out what happened, if you are not one of those people you have only one responsibility now: Do everything you can to make sure that when they find a solution it is not too late for mankind!
Rules for the Zombie uprising:
1: The stores have been looted, the gas stations are dry! Stay away from these places, adding to the mayhem there will only put you in more danger.
2: Everyone that dies rises again and a bite from one of these things is 100% fatal. If you have been bit GET AWAY FROM PEOPLE, do not pretend you are okay, do not pretend you have not been bit, for the sake of everyone around you and the human race tie yourself up and/or get as far away from the living as fast as you can.
3: Your friend that has just been bit? It is too late for them, get away from them, kill them (remove their head), or tie them down. Keeping them close to you and any other survivors just puts you at more risk
4: Women and Children get first priority, this has nothing to do with chivalry or etiquette! if a sizable portion of the population is killed before a solution is found the more women and children in good physical shape that survive the easier it will be to rebuild our culture.
5: Pull and conserver resources. Only drive if you HAVE to for survival, and then don't speed, don't accelerate quickly and don't run the air conditioner. Same goes for food, water, ammunition, battery's, paper, pens, and all other consumables. You may need these things to survive in a week, don't use them up today.
6: Communicate. Share what you know on your blog, or via e-mail, but don't tie up phone lines and forget snail mail. Read all the news/blogs you can get access too, the more you know the better your chance of survival.
Thats it for now, I may add more later.

Tesla reborn
A Wirelessly Powered Lightbulb Did I misread or are these guys taking credit for Tesla's work? The main difference that I can see is that when Tesla did it he matched the resonant frequencys of the earth to transmit the power much further (20+ miles) and had at one point in theory started building a device near New York that would have been able to send power anyware in the world.
Fathers
Fathers day is coming up. I don't think about my dad as much as I feel I should. He lives on the other side of the country (I live in California, he lives in Florida). Since my mother left him and we moved away 15 years ago I think I have seen him less than 20 times, most of those in the first 5 years. We talk sometimes, honestly the last few times he hasn't seemed drunk, which has been nice. But now I have got to thinking, I always talk about the ways he hurt me, about what he did wrong as a father, but what if in leaving and not making the effort to create\maintain a relationship I have hurt him more than he has ever hurt me? How do I know if I have been fair in how I have treated him? There is no independent objective observer, everyone that has observed what little communication we have had is going to be biased one way or the other.

Zack and Miri Make a Porno
"Granted, I’m biased because I wrote it; but I really dig this script. It’s funny, bawdy, sexy, dirty, titillating (emphasis on the tit) and dripping with heart. If you were gonna do that movie-description thing, I’d say it’s like Chasing Amy meets Clerks II, with a dash each of Boogie Nights and Bowfinger tossed in." -Kevin SmithKevin Smith is finally talking about his new comedy..
Is Perplexcity dead?
"We know that we promised you that we'd be launching Season Two this Summer; we thought we would be too. Unfortunately, this is no longer going to be possible."So? is it dead? or is this part of the game? Season 2 cards are out, people are solving them.. It seems to me that maybe this is part of the ARG... I hope that I am right.
